Get Ready for Fall Vaccinations – COVID-19 and Flu
Fall is the recommended time to get your annual COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Here’s what you need to know about coverage under the Bucks and Montgomery County Schools (BMCS) Health Care Consortium health plan.
Vaccine Coverage
All seasonal vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine, are covered at no cost to you ($0.00 member cost share).
COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements
According to CDC guidelines, if you’re under age 65, you’ll need to complete an attestation when scheduling or arriving for your COVID-19 vaccine appointment. This attestation confirms you have a qualifying medical condition that increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Conditions include:
- Asthma
- Cancer
- Certain disabilities
- Chronic diseases
- Current or former smoker
- Diabetes (Type 1 or 2)
- Immune compromised individual
- Obesity
- Physical inactivity
- Pregnancy
(This is not a complete list.)
Completing the attestation ensures your vaccine remains fully covered. Alternatively, your doctor can prescribe the vaccine for you.
Before You Get Vaccinated
Confirm with your provider that you are receiving the newest available vaccine that will target the most recent variants of COVID-19.
Which ID Card to Use
- Physician’s office, convenience clinic, CVS MinuteClinic, or urgent care: Use your Aetna medical card.
- Pharmacy: Use your CVS prescription card.
Your Choice, Your Health
Vaccination is a simple way to protect your long-term health, but the decision is personal. Review reliable information, consider your health needs, and make the choice that’s right for you.
