Effective July 1st,
NEW pharmacy benefits vendor.
The Bucks and Montgomery County Schools (BMCS) Health Care Consortium is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2025, CVS Caremark® will be our new pharmacy benefits (PBM) vendor.
CVS Caremark will provide the BMCS members with access to a broad network of over 67,000 participating retail pharmacies. Additionally, mail order and specialty drugs will be dispensed through the CVS mail order and specialty network.
This change was approved by a vote of the BMCS Trustees and aligns with our mission to provide access to high quality health care for our members in the most cost-effective manner possible. We look forward to experiencing better service and lower costs for the members of the BMCS plan.
Please look for more information in the coming weeks and months from both the BMCS Consortium and directly from CVS Caremark®. In the meantime, you should know that this change will not impact the co-payments or benefits of your current prescription drug plans.
We are working hard to make this transition as seamless and positive as possible. However, as with any change, some things need to, well, change. Some members will be required to obtain a new prescription for certain medications and others may need to change medications. Members who will be impacted will be individually notified and provided a transition period after July 1 to make this change.
REMEMBER:
The new CVS Caremark® pharmacy benefits do not start until July 1. In the meantime, you should continue to access your pharmacy services through Capital Rx and, for mail order, Optum.
We will be providing more information on a regular basis and the website will always have the most up-to-date information posted on the new pharmacy webpage, https://bmshc.org/pharmacy.
